An Escape to the Exumas

When you envision the Bahamas, pristine white sand beaches, untouched lines of striped umbrellas, and pounding sun rays may be some the first images that come to mind. The Exumas is located within a chain of 365 islands called the cays, a district of the Bahamas. Just a hundred miles off of Nassau, the Exumas is a not-so hidden gem but holds the beauty as if it was completely unknown. Between Great Exuma, Little Exuma, and the Exuma Cays a week on Halcyon Seas is the perfect way to cruise around the beauty of each portion of the Exumas. Swim through sparkling blue water to shore to walk along the Mile-long Sandbar, a location that is exclusive and only visible in low tide.

Being docked or anchored a close distance from shore allows you both the privacy and accessibility of the area in full. The ease of dropping a paddle board, kayaks, or even a couple jetskis alongside the boat makes for an exciting way to see around the cays. Even as a day trip, visiting the Exumas is an experience that is hard to find anywhere else. When the hot afternoon sun is scorching and it’s time for a refuel, the ability to retreat off to your own private bedroom or hide away in the shade on the flybridge with a cocktail in hand is the exact way it should be when cruising through the Exumas.
